Just few days ago nashock ako sa narinig ko. Ernie and Bert of Sesame Street (children's TV show) are gays daw and actually they are not best of friends but lovers! How trulily is this rumor? Matagal na daw itong chismis na to. Eh bakit ngayon ko lang narinig?! Hindi ako papayag na hindi ko malaman ang story behind this issue! So here it is.
Let me start on simple background facts about them. Ernie and Bert were designed by Don Sahlin based on two fruits. Ernie was based on orange and Bert was on banana. The two were originally intended to portrait equality. That people can be friends despite of their differences.
They are friends! Best of Friends! Yes, that's what I knew all along. Until the rumor hit my ears. They're gays? How can they be gays?
They live in one house, share one bedroom but sleeps in different bed, I know! But hey! can't friends do these things? Then I saw the portrait. Portrait of the two! HAHAH Now, no male FRIENDS will post such thing in their room for heaven sake!
For Christmas episode, Bert and Ernie each find a gift to get. Bert gets a soap dish to put Ernie's rubber ducky in and Ernie gets a cigar box to put Bert's paper clip collection in, thanks to Mr. Hooper's idea.
